TRAINING
VOLUNTEER: We offer our mentors, volunteers and the community of faith with seminars in evangelism, generational poverty and family mentorship.
YOUTH NET: Youth, ages 6-18, participate in leadership and community service training and learn how to serve others through volunteer involvement in HCDBM projects.
CHILDREN
KINGDOM KID'S CLUB: Children, ages 0 to 18, reinforce their reading and literacy skills as they learn about the love of Christ. Spiritual and inspirational books are distributed, through the family mentor volunteer, regularly through Kingdom Kids Book Club and Bible Treasure Hunt and seasonally through our Easter Basket Project and Christmas Bible Project.
WE CAN! Student Mentoring Program: desires to come alongside families and assist them with the difficult task of raising children. We do this in the form of providing a caring adult mentor that will demonstrate unconditional love and assist them in achieving their God given potential.
Mentors meet once a week for a minimum of one hour per week with youth who are excited to have a mentor and are motivated to meet.
The mentors seek to work with each mentee to:
- Enhance their intellectual growth, academic success and experience the joy of learning
- Develop a safe, secure, non-judgmental relationship with their mentee
- Enhance their mentee’s personal value as an individual, build positive relationships with others, and establish their understanding of their importance to God and to society as a whole.
- Enable the mentee to develop a personal faith in Jesus Christ as the One who brings hope and purpose to life.
If you are interested in enrolling your child or know of a child that would benefit from the WE CAN! Student Mentoring Program, please call or come by the Hill Country Daily Bread Office.

FAMILIES
GROCERY BOX: Twice a month (every other Thursday) approximately $80-100 worth of canned food, bread, dessert, non-perishables and produce are delivered to hundreds of families and individuals in need by church partner family mentors from outreach programs. The families we serve at times must choose between keeping their utilities turned on, buying medicine for a sick child, or buying food. Our boxes can ease the need to make those terrible decisions.
RESOURCE CONNECTION Our families are registered in our computer data base with the information necessary to custom process clothing, books, school supplies, toys, etc. Families and individuals receive clothing when they sign up and when needs arise.
HILL COUNTRY BABY: Babies and toddlers are provided with disposable diapers and wipes so as to alleviate the health hazard caused by unclean conditions
HILL COUNTRY SILVER CROWN: The elderly and the disabled are provided with Depends, wipes and other personal hygiene products to assist them in maintaining good health
THE THANKSGIVING BOX: The Sunday before Thanksgiving, families sign up for a complete “cook for themselves” Thanksgiving dinner to be delivered by their outreach family mentor volunteer.
KINGDOM KIDS CLUB: Children, ages 0 to 18, reinforce their reading and literacy skills as they learn about the love of Christ. Spiritual and inspirational books are distributed, through the family mentor volunteer, regularly through Kingdom Kids Book Club and Sunday School Express and seasonally through our Easter Basket Project and Christmas Bible Project.
CHRISTMAS TOY PROJECT: Along with Sam’s Kids of Boerne ISD, HCDBM supplies every family registered with Christmas toys and gifts to give to their children ages 0 to 18.
